Obituary of Holly Teresa Grafft

Holly Teresa Grafft, aged to 60, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 31, 2014, after a lengthy illness. Holly was the first of four children and was born on May 8, 1954, in Wichita, Kansas to the late Bobby D. Sims and Iva G. Hegr. The family moved to Colorado Springs in 1964. Holly married the love of her life Robert P. Grafft on December 6, 1974.Holly was a homemaker and fantastic cook who loved to crotchet, listen to Elvis and spend time with her family. She will be most remembered as a generous and gentle soul who treated everyone she met with love and kindness. Even though she was burned many times over because of these wonderful traits, she continued to give and give again. She opened her home to numerous family members, friends and homeless, offering food, shelter and friendship and asked for nothing in return. Holly was the rock of her family.She leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved husband and best friend Robert, her daughter Lisa, son Jeramie, his wife Andrea, her children and grandchildren. Her mother Iva G. Berce, brothers Bobby and Layton Sims and sister Kendra Sims-Black of Lake Worth, Florida as well as her beloved dogs Buttons and Misty, who are still waiting for her to come home.She also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, in-laws and their children and the numerous friends and acquaintances she helped throughout her life.
