Obituary of Jay Dee Simco

Jay Simco passed away June 26, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. A sudden and unexpected onset of leukemia took him from us too early.A native of Colorado Springs, he was born on May 5, 1956 and graduated from Mitchell High School. He and his brothers were Mitchell Maurader wrestlers. Jay owned Simco Roofing Company for many years, helped keep Jim ranching, and most recently operated Purgatory Cattle Company, boarding stables in Fountain, Colorado.Jay was preceded in death by his father, Jack Simco; and brother, Carl "Bub" Simco.He is survived by his daughters, Chelsea (Nick) Pullara of Fountain, Colorado, and Kendra (Eric) Stigall of San Diego, California; and his treasured grandchildren, Landon, Skylar, and Jasper. He is also survived by his mother, Loretta; step-father, Jim; brother, Joel Simco; sisters, Susan McGregor and Jill (Theron) Bennett; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.Jay loved his family and enjoyed life, roping, music, dancing and red pick-ups. He never missed a chance to tease and his incredible sense of humor kept everyone on their toes.A celebration of Jay's life will be held on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 10:00 AM at his home on 610 East Kansas Avenue in Fountain, Colorado.
