Obituary of Juel "Arnie" Richard Arneson
Juel "Arnie" Arneson, 74, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1968 and formerly of Pelican Rapids, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2014 at the Robins Nest Care Facility in Colorado Springs. He was a Graphic Arts Instructor at Pikes Peak Community College for 30 years. He was also a loving husband, father, papa, brother, uncle and friend.Juel Richard Arneson was born on June 1, 1940 in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota to the late Bennie and Dorothy (Johnson) Arneson. He attended schools in Pelican Rapids and college at Wapheton State School of Science.He married Joyce A. Jenson on May 28, 1960.Arnie enjoyed classic cars, teaching and dearly loved his family. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, as well as his commitment to his students.He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce; his children: David (Michelle) Arneson, Linda (Ryan) Miller, Catherine (Sean) Collins; and six grandchildren; Hannah, Morgan, Jensen, Benjamin, Haley and Kylee.Also survived are his two brothers, DuWayne (Billie) Arneson of Tucson, Arizona and Everett (Geri) Arneson of Bothell, Washington; and his sisters, Betty Magee of Bothell and Ione Nelson of Fergus Falls, Minnesota. Memorial Service, 11:00AM, Friday, July 18, 2014, First Lutheran Church, 1515 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs. A reception will follow at the Church.
