Obituary of Cynthia "Cindy" Anne Karolides Smith

Cindy Smith, age 55, a resident of Colorado Springs since 2005 and formerly of Peabody, Massachusetts passed away on August 7, 2014 at a local hospice. She was a Project Control Analyst for The Macalan Group, a government contractor. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend.Cynthia Anne Karolides was born on February 27, 1959 in Norwood, Massachusetts to William and Sandra (Mozer) Karolides. She was a graduate of Peabody High School and attended Essex Agricultural and Technical Institute. She married John Blitch on April 8, 1983 in Copenhagen, Denmark. She later married Donald F. Smith on July 22, 2010 in Colorado Springs. Cindy was a decorator, a sports enthusiast, and a fun loving, gentle spirit. She will be best remembered for her great sense of humor and her words of wisdom.She is survived by her husband, Don; her daughters, Danielle (Joshua) Reid and Heather Blitch; and her granddaughter, Ava Jae Reid. She is also survived by her dad, William Karolides; Don's sons, Carson and Camden Smith; a brother, Thomas (Ana) Karolides; and a sister, Susan (Michael) Ryan. Her former husband, John Blitch is also surviving. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sandra Clair Mozer Karolides; and her favorite uncle, Charlie Angelakis.Memorial Service, 2:00PM, Sunday, August 10, 2014, The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
