Obituary of Carol Marie Persons

Carol Marie Persons, (nee Scheich), passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the age of 88, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.Carol was the daughter of the late Louis and Ernestine Scheich, and is survived by her siblings, Louis, Richard, Janet, Donald, Gerald, and Judy.She was the beloved wife of Charles (deceased); dear mother of Thomas (Jane Gleason), Wayne, Nancy Pollock (Michael), Michael (deceased), Sandra Madajczyk (Robert), Keith, (Melissa), and Lynne. She is survived by many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren across the United States.Carol grew up in Detroit, married, had seven children, returned to work at the Detroit Board of Education, and was widowed at age 45. She raised her children in Detroit with the generous help of neighbors, family and friends, plus the financial aid of Social Security. Carol then retired and moved north of Port Sanilac, Michigan, where she was able to indulge her love of gardening and arts & crafts, which included knitting, sewing, crochet, needlepoint, and other creative endeavors. Family was always her first love; she remained close to her siblings, cared deeply for her children, and thrived on family weddings and reunions. She excelled in the role of grandmother, and eagerly took young children under her wing. Carol also had a passionate love for nature, her home on Lake Huron and all God's creatures.She was positive, undemanding, cheerful, thrifty, resourceful, loving and loved until the end.Cremation will be in Colorado Springs.
