Obituary of Delores Williams Holmes

Delores Holmes, age 79, a longtime resident of Colorado Springs and formerly of Texas, passed away on September 23, 2014 at a local hospital following a long illness. Delores was born on September 29, 1934 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was raised in Texas and moved to Colorado Springs in 1960. She loved to dance…and she was known to have had a way to dance her way into your heart. She was always there for those who were important in her life. She loved animals and had a passion for living life to its fullest.She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman A. Holmes; mother, Louise Thaggert; brother, Don Williams; and sister, Nita Mae Coleman (Kenneth).She is survived by her son, Little Ray; sisters, Joyce Eskridge and Betty Claret; nephews, Kenny Jr., Phillip Jr., Ted W., Leon A., Arlen A., Aaron A., Andre A., Nikolas A. and Pepa; and nieces, Cheri C., Bonnie C., Julie C., Jackie L., Wanda T., Christina S., Maria R.C., DaMisha A., and Nekyla A.. She is also survived by her dear friends, Florine Mitchell, Ann Washington, Alice Lovett, Elizabeth "Bess" Boyd, Odessa "Flossie" Howard, Rodessa, Betty S., Big Ray and Ronald E.
