Obituary of Iva May Johns

Iva May (Le Counte) Johns, 80 years old, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the one whose presence makes heaven, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Iva May was born in Blackwell, OK March 9, 1934, to John and Anna (Heizer) Le Counte, and passed away on October 24, 2014 at home with her loving family at her bedside. Three weeks after her graduation from high school, Iva ran away with Victor Johns and they were married in Joplin, MO June 11, 1952. They loved and enjoyed their life together celebrating 62 years working together as a team. They had three children of this union, Vicky, Donald Jr. and Howard Leroy. Iva is preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna Le Counte; sisters, Leona and Lois; and son, Howard. She is survived by her loving husband, Victor; daughter, Vicky Wright; son, Donald Jr. (Kelly); daughter-in-law, Barbara (Howard); and sister, Jacqueline Lucas. Iva had 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and numerous other family members. Iva was an accomplished artist who loved to paint. She also loved to spend time in the mountains when possible. She will be greatly missed by all. Memorial Service, 10:00AM, Wednesday, October 29, 2014, Ellicott Baptist Church, 24075 Highway 94, Ellicott, Colorado. Iva was a lifetime member of the Ellicott Baptist Church and sang in the choir for many, many years.
