Obituary of Amy Leigh Jones

Amy Leigh Jones, a friend of many and loved by family passed on October 30, 2014. She was a resident of Colorado Springs since 1979.Amy was born October 26, 1955 in Battle Creek, Michigan. She graduated high school from Aurora, Ohio and Colorado University with her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. Her work life as a single mother with two children, was in private business fields. Once she obtained her degree, she worked in Social Services.Amy's life was a struggle with Juvenile Diabetes. She had a kidney and pancreas transplant in 1993, and a second kidney transplant in 2006 donated by her loving friend Susan Liggett. To have survived so long is a tribute to her courage and dedication to her favorite cause of 25 years and its fellowship of loving friends.She is survived by her daughters, Rhea Neuberger of Fargo, North Dakota and Kendra Shofter of Jacksonville, Florida; four grandchildren; her brothers, Tom Beckett of Kent; Ohio, John Beckett of New Milford, Connecticut; and Jim Beckett of Newtown, Connecticut; and her parents, John and Nancy Beckett of Danbury, Connecticut.A Memorial Service will be held 4:00PM, Saturday, November 8, 2014 at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
