Obituary of Carl Denny Johnson
Carl Denny Johnson (Bubs to many of his family and friends), passed away quietly on Wednesday, November 19, 2014.Carl was born June 3, 1934 to Hermit "Tweed" and Helen (Lundquist) Johnson. He was a third generation member of the Ellicott community, graduating from Ellicott High School in 1952. Carl married his high school sweetheart, Ellen Louise Tipton, on October 5, 1952. From their union were born three children, Vicky, Danny and Penny. During their 62 years of marriage, they worked and played side by side - they enjoyed music, dancing, traveling and trying their hand at new endeavors. Carl will be remembered as a builder and carpenter. He constructed many beautiful personal items for the family, including clocks and tables.Carl was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Kenneth. He is survived by his loving wife, Ellen; daughters, Vicky Sanger and Penny (Joe) Kondrup; and son, Daniel (Rebecca). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Stacee, Mandee, Kimberly, Nick, Kenley, Jaimee and Laura and their families (fifteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandson); a brother, Allen (Nancy); sister-in-law, Selvia; and many nieces and nephews. The kids were his pride and joy – they always made him smile. Carl's greatest legacy is having shared his faith and love of the Lord with everyone he spoke to, and most especially with his family.A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00PM, Friday, December 5, 2014 at the Calhan Cemetery, Cards may be sent to Ellen at 2355 Stratton Forest Heights, Colorado Springs, 80906.
