David Stone -- fisherman, music lover, sweet father, brother, uncle and friend of many, and an amazing cook -- passed on November 28th, 2014. He was a caring man and could be described as a hell raiser with a heart of gold. David was loved by many, and was a favorite uncle for numerous nieces and nephews, whether through blood relationship or friendship. He had a youthful heart and a sincere affection for children. He took special pride in helping his loved ones however he could, and was known to enjoy a good time with thumping loud music, especially the sounds of West Coast Rappers, Too Short and Sugar Free, and the Blues. The youngest of nine children, David was born September 18th, 1952 to the late Louise G. Stone and Henry Ward Stone in Pueblo, Colorado, and was spoiled to the core by all his siblings. When David was in his teens, the family settled in Colorado Springs, a city he adored. He loved nature and spent a great deal of time taking the youngsters in his family to Prospect Lake to learn the art of fishing. He craved the open road and took every opportunity to get behind the wheel and drive cross-country, whether he was driving semi-trucks professionally or hopping on the open highway to discover a new adventure.A wonderful storyteller, he was known to captivate his audiences with his larger than life tales, getting every last dramatic moment from the details. He excelled at construction, carpentry, fixing things, and cooking. He was known for his well iron and super starched Wrangler jeans, unique seasoning rubs, smoked meats and pulled pork and his famous holiday turduckin, and he had an itchy finger for those Las Vegas and Cripple Creek slot machines.
