Obituary of Bettie Jean Hicks

Bettie Hicks, age 57, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2014 at Brookdale Palmer Park after a long illness. She was an insurance broker, a wonderful wife, daughter, sister, aunt and loyal friend.Bettie Jean Cave was born on July 23, 1957 in Lafayette, Indiana to Joseph and Virginia (Goodwin) Cave. She was a 1975 graduate of North Central High School. She married Jon W. Hicks on March 19, 1977 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Together they had a business called the Hicks Benefit Group.Bettie had a crazy and adventurous spirit. She loved sailing, skiing and the outdoors. She was a dare-devil who feared nothing. She especially loved wine and rollercoasters. She had served as past president of both local chapters of NAWIC (National Association of Women in Construction) and the Southern Colorado Association of Health Underwriters. Bettie will be best remembered for her even temper and fearlessness. She will be dearly missed.She is survived by her loving husband, Jon; her parents, who live in The Villages at Lady Lake, Florida; and her four sisters, Cherie Cave of Lady Lake, Vickie (Bob) Nelson of Davenport, Iowa, Julie Cave of Noblesville, Indiana and Tammie Cave (Dennis Howell) of Tucson. She also has a number of nieces and nephews. Memorial Service, 3:00PM, Wednesday, December 17, 2014, The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
