Obituary of Lawrence William Hammitt

Lawrence Hammitt, 67, a lifelong resident of Colorado Springs passed away on December 9, 2014. He was married to the love of his life, Marjorie, for 47 years. He was self-employed in the construction field for almost 30 years. He loved spending time with his family and friends. His passions were camping, hunting, fishing, four wheeling and target practice. He had a servant's heart for his family, friends, God and helping others. During his military career he served in the Army Reserves at Fort Carson, Colorado where he was honorably discharged as a drill sergeant after 6 years of service.He was preceded in death by his mother, Edna Mae Hammitt; and niece, Jaqueline Aragon.He is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie Hammitt; sisters, Sandy McClain and Penny Jones (Ron); children, Bill Hammitt, Tom Hammitt (Becky), and Brenda Shull (Jody); grandchildren, Matthew, Joey, Jonathan, Nicky, Dana, TJ, Jacob, and Breyanna; brothers-in-law, Conn (Denise), Marshall (Pam), Garry (Mary), and Mel; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
