Obituary of George Eddie Hammond, Jr.

George E. "Jabby" Hammond passed away on Friday, December 12, 2014 at his home in Colorado Springs. He was a truck driver.George Eddie Hammond, Jr. was born on October 1, 1970 in Winona, Mississippi to George and Laura (Sanders) Hammond. He was a 1989 graduate of Winona High School and attended Holmes Junior College. He had attended Emmanuel Baptist Church in Colorado Springs and enjoyed dancing, exercise and football. He is survived by his children, Montez Hammond of Bowling Green, Kentucky and Dominique Johnson of Oceanside, California; his mother, Laura Hammond of Colorado Springs; his father, George E. (Christyne) Hammond, Sr. of Winona; his brother, Tracy Hammond of Ohio; his sisters, Gwendolyn (Venrick) James of Copper's Grove, Texas and Laretta Williams of Colorado Springs. He is also survived by two step-sisters, Brenda Montgomery and Elgina Purnell; two step-brothers, Bobby Jennings and Barry Jennings; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.Visitation, 12:00PM-1:00PM, Saturday, December 20, 2014, The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
