Obituary of Sadie Olive Tucker Shook
Sadie Olive Shook (Tucker) passed away in her home on December 30, 2014 in Colorado Springs, Colorado due to complications following lung cancer. She was 54.Sadie was born on December 21, 1960 in Springfield, Missouri to her parents William and Henrietta Tucker. She was one of thirteen children. Family was everything to Sadie. Sadie raised three children as a stay at home mother, Meagen, Michael and Morgan. This was a full time job. Sadie moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado in the spring of 2006 where she began a new career taking care of a developmentally disabled woman. Sadie made an incredible difference in this woman's life and every life she touched.Sadie was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer in April 2014. She dedicated her remaining time to checking off things on her bucket list. In August she, her sister, Gail, her brother, Steven, her daughter, Morgan, son-in-law, Shawn and grandson, Eli went to Yellowstone National Park and spent two wonderful weeks enjoying God's masterpiece. She went camping in the Mountains with her sisters, Anita and Alicia in September. In October she made the trip back to Missouri to spend the holidays with her children and grandchildren. She was visited by many friends and family while in Missouri. She spent Thanksgiving, her birthday and Christmas surrounded by all of her children, grandchildren and friends. Sadie is survived by her daughter and son in law, Meagen and Joseph Duran of Republic, MO; her son and daughter in law, Michael and Adrienne Shook of Battlefield, MO; her daughter and son in law, Morgan and Shawn Covert of Casper, WY; her sisters, Barbara Blake, Anita Hymer, Gail Hardy and Alicia Campbell; and her brothers, Jay Tucker, Guy Tucker, Mark Tucker, Kenneth Tucker, Dennis Tucker and Steven Tucker. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Henrietta Tucker; her brother, William (Bill) Tucker; her sister-in-law, Lois Tucker; her brother-in-law, John Hymer; her niece, Mechelle Tucker; and her nephew, Benjamin Tucker.Sadie will not be buried and will not have a funeral. Instead she chose to be cremated and a memorial will be planned for this spring in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Sadie wished to be scattered in the mountains that brought such joy and peace to her life. All are welcome to attend the memorial and may contact one of the three children to find out exact dates and times.
