Obituary of Eva Louise Stinson
Eva Louise Stinson, 85, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2014 of lung cancer, congestive heart failure and kidney failure. Born February 28, 1929¸in Marmaduke, Arkansas, she was the daughter of John A. Fahr, farmer and carpenter and Bertha Noel Fahr, beloved homemaker. Eva graduated from Marmaduke High School in 1946 and went on to study at the Memphis School of Commerce completing the General Business program the same year. After working briefly as administrative support in radio, she enlisted in the US Air Force. While on tour, she met and married her husband of 27 years, Hilton Stinson who passed away in 1984. Together they had four children, Debbie, Dan, Deanna, and Daphne. Eva left the Air Force with the birth of her first child and resumed a career with Civil Service. After many years of moving and supporting Hilton's AF career, they settled in Knob Noster, Missouri. Eva worked in contracting at nearby Whiteman AFB for many years while raising her family. She awarded several contracts to prepare for the arrival of the B-2 Stealth Bomber. She retired in 1991 after 34 years of dedicated service as the contracting squadron's Chief of Construction. After retirement, Eva moved to central Florida where she lived for 11 years before moving to Panama City, Florida to care for her eldest daughter, Debbie who passed away of breast/bone cancer in November 2007. She moved to Colorado Springs in the spring of 2009 to be near family for the remainder of her life. In addition to her parents, her husband, and eldest daughter, she was preceded in death by her brothers Herschel, Harold, and Gerald, and sister Lena. She leaves behind a son, two daughters, and two sons-in law, Dan and Deanna (Ted) of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Daphne (Frank) of Chantilly, Virginia along with three nieces and three nephews and their families. She also leaves behind nine cherished grandchildren and three great-grandchildren including her namesake little Eva, 18 months old.She was an amazing woman with a full life. She loved gardening, dancing, camping, and fishing in her younger years as well as sewing, crochet, crossword puzzles and hand quilting later.
