Obituary of Nellie Lee Miller
Nellie Miller, 89, a longtime resident of Colorado Springs and formerly of the Walsenburg area passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Pike Peak Hospice. Nellie was born on November 22, 1925 in Huerfano County near Walsenburg. Nellie had four children and later married Billy L. Miller.She was a homemaker who had also worked as an LPN in various nursing homes. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She is survived by her children, Connie (Richard) Elmergreen of Seymour, Wisconsin; Chris Lucero and Betty Valdez of Colorado Springs. She has eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.She is also survived by her sister, Geraldine (Harold) Sandoval of Walsenburg.She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Miller, two brothers and two sisters, and her daughter Mary Lucero, who died at age, 8.Visitation, 5:00PM-7:00PM, Wednesday, January 7, 2015 Rosary will be recited at 7:00PM at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 E. Platte Avenue.Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00AM, Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 2715 E. Pikes Peak Avenue, followed by burial at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S.
