Obituary of SFC Jack A. McCray, US Army

Jack Retired from the US Army after serving his country for almost 21 years (1983-2004); an honor that he held in high regard. He was a country boy from a small town in Ohio so the military afforded him the opportunity to see the world. He was also a veteran of the Desert Storm War.After retiring he went on to achieve a diploma and certification in motorcycle repair, specifically Harley-Davidson. Motorcycles were his other passion in life next to the military. He enjoyed the freedom that riding gave him.Jack was a family man. It was the most important thing to him. He devoted his life to being a good father, husband, brother and friend. And he always had a huge love for children which came straight from the heart. He was preceded in death by his father, Gary McCray; a brother, Lee McCray; and a step-son, Steven Neama.Jack is survived by his wife, Shirley McCray; two sons, Jack McCray, Jr. and and Sam McCray; two step-sons, Alex Neama and Paul Neama; his mother, Ruby McCray; two brothers, Dan McCray and Mike McCray; a sister, Gail Phillips; two grandchildren, Makaylah McCray and Romelio Martinez; and many nieces and nephews.Jack will be so dearly missed by all that knew him. He touched the hearts of everyone that he met. May he rest in peace.Visitation, 10:00AM-11:30AM, Friday, January 23, 2015, The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado.Funeral Service, 11:30AM, Friday, January 23, 2015, The Springs Funeral Services.Burial, Evergreen Cemetery, Colorado Springs, Colorado.Funeral Home:The Springs Funeral Services3115 East Platte AvenueColorado Springs, , COUS 80909 Events Cemetery Saturday, January 24, 2015 12:00AM Evergreen Cemetery 1005 Hancock Expressway Colorado Springs, CO 80903 Phone: 719-578-6646 Visitation Friday, January 23, 2015 10:00AM - 11:30AM The Springs Funeral Services 3115 East Platte Avenue Colorado Springs, CO 80909 Phone: 719-207-8855 Service Friday, January 23, 2015 11:30AM The Springs Funeral Services 3115 East Platte Avenue Colorado Springs, CO 80909 Phone: 719-207-8855
