Obituary of Mary Ann Scott

Mary Ann Scott, age 79, a lifelong resident of Calhan, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at her home in rural Calhan. She had retired from Walter Drake, where she had worked for over 40 years. She was a rancher and also had worked at the Dog Track in Colorado Springs.Mary was born on June 12, 1935 in Calhan to the late John J. and Kathryn (Forbes) Scott. She was a graduate of Peyton High School. Mary loved working on the ranch, raising cattle, llamas, horses, chickens and geese. She was also in the honeybee business for a time. She loved to travel and will be dearly missed by her siblings and her beloved dogs and cat.She is survived by her five sisters: Norma Scott, Annette (and Ike) Lippett, Leona Tombuth, Rosalie Scott and Susan Scott. She also has a brother: Carl Scott. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister: Ila Hughes.Visitation will be held from 5PM-8PM, Thursday, January 22, 2015 at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 E. Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs. Funeral Services will be held at 2PM, Friday, January 23 at the Living Word Community Church, 532 Colorado Avenue, Calhan, Colorado 80808. Burial will follow at Calhan Cemetery.
