Obituary of June Armour Nelsen

June Armour Nelsen, born December 8, 1931 in Detroit Michigan to Raymond and Mary Bertrand, passed away in Colorado Springs Saturday, January 24, 2015. She was 83. She married Marvin Nelsen on September 26, 1953. He became her lifelong love. She gave birth to their only child Caren in 1956. She worked at Dodge, and then General Motors plus worked a part-time position serving at an event center. They traveled and camped extensively around the United States, and in 1973, decided to move to Colorado Springs. She and Marvin lived north of Colorado Springs for over 40 years, working as a waitress and then switchboard operator at several hospitals. After retirement, she and Marvin traveled to Arizona every winter and enjoyed the company of other "snowbirds".June enjoyed building precious memories with her two granddaughters, taking care of Marvin and Rambo, watching hummingbirds, eating at new or favorite restaurants and following her favorite sports teams.She is survived by her husband, Marvin; daughter, Caren (Randy) Evans, Granddaughters, Jessica and Cassie; sisters, Lorene and Allyn and sister-in-Law Arlene and their families.Visitation, 6:00PM-8:00PM, Thursday, January 29 at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue.Memorial Service 11:00AM, Friday, January 30, 2015, First Presbyterian Church, 219 East Bijou Street.
