Obituary of Scott Thomas Hooper
Scott Hooper passed away peacefully at his home in Colorado Springs after nearly twelve months of fighting brain cancer. He was the son of Kathleen "Kate" Hupp, born in San Diego, California on January 19, 1980. He married Mary (Schmiechen) on June 3, 2011 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.Scott served in the U.S. Army as a military police officer, including a tour in the Middle East. He spent his final years, however, as a home caregiver to his four children and a daycare provider. Before his cancer diagnosis, he aspired to once again work in law enforcement. Scott had many interests and hobbies, including motorcycles, science fiction, country music, and an immense appreciation for games of all types. He spent his final months checking off many of his bucket list items with the help of friends and family, with his last item being his 35th birthday bash with nearly 150 friends and family members in attendance. Scott is survived by his wife, Mary; his children, Hayley, Jacey, Tristan, and Melayna; his mother, Kate; and his loyal canine companions, Konrad and Freya.Stuart Scott once said, "When you die, it does not mean that you lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and in the manner in which you live." Scott Hooper will be dearly missed by many and admired for how he lived life to its fullest.Memorial Service, 4:30PM, Wednesday, February 18, 2015, The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado.Funeral Home:The Springs Funeral Services3115 East Platte AvenueColorado Springs, , COUS 80909
