Obituary of Jan Louise Simpson
Jan Simpson, age 67, a longtime resident of Teller County, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2015 after a valiant battle against Cancer. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and devoted friend. Jan Louise Simpson was born on June 18, 1947 in Los Angeles, California. The daughter of the late Hugh and Audrey Palmer. She was a 1965 graduate of Vista High School in Vista, California. She married Victor Simpson on August 16, 1969 in Oceanside, California. Jan and Vic met in 1963 and have been sweethearts ever since. Together, they created and raised a family that is a circle of strength. Jan loved quilting and was active in the "Quilters Above the Clouds" quilting group. She loved to cook and entertain. She also was a supervisor for disaster relief in Kaneohe, Hawaii for the American Red Cross. She will be best remembered for her love of family, her caring nature and her positive attitude.She is survived by her husband, Vic of Divide; her son: Craig (and Allison) Simpson of Woodland Park; her daughter: Brooke (and Stephen) Brown of Garibaldi, Oregon; her brother: Charles (and Jan) Palmer of Cottonwood, California and her sister: Dodie Palmer of San Marcos, California. She has three wonderful grandchildren: Tyler and the twins: Carly and Logan. Memorials in her memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or to the American Cancer Society.
