Obituary of Joyce Darlene Bullard

Joyce Bullard, 76, of Colorado Springs and formerly of Lakewood, Colorado, joined her Lord on February 15, 2015. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker, sister, volunteer and overseas missionary. Joyce was born on January 5, 1939 in Warren, Ohio to the late Charles and Dorothy (Pohto) Richen . She graduated in 1956 from Warren High School. She married Roger Bullard on October 5, 1957.They raised a family and lived in Hawaii, Oklahoma, Longmont and Lakewood, Colorado. A friend to all and mentor to many, her encouragement, generosity, and compassion, impacted countless lives. She thrived as a beauty consultant, performing swimmer in Hawaii, and Bed and Breakfast jack-of-all-trades. Whether wearing sparkly outfits, planting gorgeous gardens or hosting elaborate events, she delighted in nurturing people with great food and love. Joyce lived life to the fullest.She was a volunteer for GI Grannies/Gramps for Soldier Support (GIGSS) at Fort Carson and New Life Church. Joyce was a 4H leader and integral part of the Military Mother Daughter Tea at the YMCA. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Charles and Ronald Richen.She is survived by her husband, Roger; children, Charles "Chuck" (Debbie) Bullard, Andrea (Keith) Thompson, Laurel Anderson, and Philip (Sheryl) Bullard; sisters, Charlotte (Dr. Allen) Ginsburg; Sally (Dr. Thomas) LaBaugh and Terri (Joseph) Hudek; and her brother, John Richen. Joyce had eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Devoted mother and grandmother, she gave her all to her family.
