Obituary of Gail Lunney Packer Jezek

Gail Lunney Packer Jezek graced the world with her beautiful presence on November 8, 1948 in Denver, CO. She was a fun, loyal, green chili, Posole loving sister, mother, mother in-law, grandma, and friend. An inspiration to anyone that truly knew her. Gail left us Tuesday February 17, 2015 at 10:24 am. We gained an angel and a protector that watches over us from above.She is survived by her daughter, Michele Jezek; brother-in-law, Dave Stout; daughter-in-law, Alicia Nolan; sister, Miriam Stout; and her precious granddaughter, Lilly Jezek. Also left behind are her beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many close friends. Gail will be safe and sound joined next to her parents, Barbara and Philip W. Packer; her brother, Sparky; and the love of her life, her amazing husband, Donald Jezek. Gail attended Blessed Sacrament grade school, Smiley Junior High and East High school. She was a Girl Scout in a troop led by her mother, Barbara Packer. Gail graduated with an associates degree from Arapaho Community College.Gail worked as an accountant, and as a money handler at the Greyhound racetrack in Denver. She was a teacher aid at Queen of Heaven Catholic School in Albuquerque, New Mexico; where she was proud to say she taught first graders how to read. She also worked in the Special education department here in Colorado Springs. Gail was also a former Media Technician and Library Technician at Doherty High School for ten years. She will be greatly missed by all of the students and staff at Doherty.She loved and treasured her tight knit family, near and far. Gail always enjoyed other people and cultivated friendships with people from all walks in life. She was an animal lover. Gail absolutely loved and adored her two cats, Sausa and Bermuda, and her dog, Tucker.Gail was a breath of fresh air, a true gem to all that had the privilege to know her. The most welcoming and angelic person we have been graced with. A heart of gold, a smile to light up the whole room, a contagious laugh that could turn your mood upside down, and this indescribable aura she had surrounding her. She truly was a living angel.A celebration of Gail's life is scheduled for 3:00PM-7:00PM, Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Senor Manuel's Mexican Restaurant located at 4660 North Nevada Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80918.In lieu of flowers, the Jezek family is asking that donations be made to Safe Place for Pets: 1141 Manitou Avenue, Manitou Springs, CO 80829, (719) 359-0201, http://www.safeplacepets.org/involvement.html An event for her New Mexico family and friends will occur in May (details to follow).
