Obituary of Evelyn Ann Labor

Evelyn A. Labor, age 94, a resident of Fountain, Colorado passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at the Sunny Vista Living Center in Colorado Springs. She was a loving mother and grandmother and had been a nurses aide in a hospital during her working years.Evelyn Ann Bertram was born on November 21, 1920 in Downers Grove, Illinois to the late Fred J. and Frances J. (Schwaebe) Bertram. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen, Mary, and Agnes; and one brother, Harry. She was married twice, to Manuel Sequeria and Amiel Labor who both preceded her in death.Evelyn enjoyed many things throughout her life. She loved the mountains, being in nature, working crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with her family. She had a keen sense of humor and loved a good laugh. She loved to crochet and did volunteer work for the food bank in Las Vegas for many years. She loved spending time with friends at the senior center, most recently she spent a lot of her time at the Fountain Senior Center. When she was in her 60s she went white water rafting with her son, Ken, near Lake Tahoe, and considered that the trip of a lifetime which she often remembered fondly. She had a very kind and giving spirit and helped those in need who crossed her path. She is survived by her four sons, David Sequeria of Gordon, Nebraska, Kenneth Labor of Fountain, Colorado, Robert (Jennie) Labor of Everett, Washington and Donald (Molly) Labor of Colorado Springs. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Gina (Tom) Schinler of McHenry, Illinois; and her great-granddaughter, Tiana Schinler and her special friend, Edie Labor.A gathering of family and friends was held in Fountain, Colorado to celebrate her life. Memorials in her name may be made to the charity of the giver's choice.She will be dearly missed.
