Obituary of Richard C. Marten

Richard C. Marten left this world to be with Jesus on March 18, 2015. Rich was born on September 1, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois. He married Mary Petersen on July 29, 1967. They started their lives together in Addison, Illinois where they lived until 1984 when he moved with his family to Falcon, Colorado. While in Addison, Rich worked in many positions for Commonwealth Edison Electric Company for 21 years. After the move to Colorado, Rich was a lineman for ICG Electric until 1987 when his career turned to a cross country truck driver for Werner Enterprises. He was a decorated driver, trainer, owner, and operator. This career included being the first driver to accomplish one million miles in the same truck. That truck now resides in the Werner Enterprises Hall of Fame.Rich had many accomplishments in his time but considered his wife and family to be his greatest. He will be greatly missed until we join him in heaven.Rich is preceded in death by both his parents, Reinhardt and Elizabeth. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Mary; and their three children, Scott (Cheri) Marten, Tim (Tanya) Marten and Robin (Les) Burch.
