Obituary of James "Mac" Christian Frederick McKinley

James "Mac" McKinley, a man of proud German decent, was meticulous in his willingness to share his integrity, knowledge and heritage. Being a diligent man, it was no chore for him to impress upon his family the rich value of a quarter and stories of simple times; when the milk man was a friend. The mail was delivered on time. And classic cars were fresh off the line.As a dedicated family man, he plunged head strong into work. He began an apprenticeship with the Campbell Drug Store in Alton, Illinois when he was in high school. On his 17th birthday, he joined the Navy Reserves, receiving an honorable discharge three years later. As the times changed, so did he. He attended the University of Montana and received a bachelor's of science in wildlife biology. He found great pleasure working as a wildlife biologist, but later went on to work as a chemist. To sum up our beloved "Mac" is impossible; for he was so multifaceted. He was a historian, a man to look up to, a lover of nature vast and wide, hunting, fishing and travel. Not only a believer of our country but an avid supporter. He leaves behind to mourn his passing, his wife, Sue of Fountain; his daughter, Jennifer of Billings, Montana; a brother, Charles McKinley, of Valatie, New York; his three grandchildren, Emily and Frank Krantwashl and daughters, Marley and Ziona, of Billings, Montana; Myranda and Austin Hoggatt of Phoenix, Arizona. and step children, Keri and Ben Funkhouser and Kim Hoggatt of Colorado Springs and Mike Hoggatt of Clear Lake, Iowa.Funeral Home:The Springs Funeral Services3115 East Platte AvenueColorado Springs, , COUS 80909
