Obituary of Daniel Webster Brown, Jr.

Daniel Webster Brown, Jr. passed on March 28, 2015 at his home in Colorado Springs where he was a resident since 1968. He was a trumpet coronet player for the United Stated Army Band and a professional musician. He was the eldest of three sons, born to the infinite Union of Daniel Webster Brown and Ida Lee Richardson in Hillsboro, Texas on July 9, 1928. Daniel retired from the United States Army were he served for more than 20 years as a proud soldier. At the age of 12 he picked up a trumpet . From then on he played with his heart and soul with the army band and also with various musicians including Wes Montgomery, Dizzy Gillespie and Count Basie throughout the country and abroad . While enlisted and retired, Daniel earned his BA and BS degrees . His departed mother; father; brother, Walter Ray; and his wife, Masako now welcome him "Home"! He is survived by his daughter, Mildred (Windsor); brother, Theatrice; grandchildren, Gary II (Yaritza), Tiahnni (Victor), Windsor Jr. and Margaret; great-grandchildren, Rahmel, Zjiahnni, Ziyaiir, Zjanelis and Victor III; his beloved longtime companion, Margaret Ruth Williams; and a host of friends and family .
