Obituary of Judy A. Garcia

Judy A. Garcia, age 69, a lifelong resident of Colorado Springs died accidentally on April 24, 2015 as a result of an automobile/pedestrian accident. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend who had previously worked as an Electronics Technician.Judy A. Garcia was born on March 14, 1946 in Colorado Springs to the late Fred and Febe (Herrera) Garcia. She was a 1964 graduate of Palmer High School and attended Blair Business College. She spent most of her life as a mother who cared dearly for her beloved daughters. She also worked for Western Electric, TRW and Urban Renewal. She loved dancing, singing, going to Cripple Creek and spending time with her daughters and granddaughter. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and was a volunteer at the Creative Play Center. Judy was a woman of family and faith. She especially loved the children that she worked with at Creative Play Center. She will be best remembered for her pride and love for her family, her strength through difficult times, her smile and unconditional love.She is survived by her daughters, Angie Vasquez of Colorado Springs and Teri (Ben Ortiz) Vasquez of Broomfield, Colorado; her brothers, Johnny (Barbara) Garcia of Colorado Springs and Steve (Debra) Garcia of Anaheim Hills, California; two sisters, Pat Garcia of Cripple Creek, Colorado and Marcy Geneman of Colorado Springs; granddaughter, Codi Ortiz; her beloved companion, James DeCasper of Colorado Springs; and her dear friend, Larry Bloom. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Linda Maestas and Sarah Garcia.Memorial Service, 11:00AM, Friday, May 1, 2015, Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4125 Constitution Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Inurnment will be at the Holy Comforter Episcopal Church Columbarium in Broomfield, Colorado at a later date.
