Obituary of Hildegard Frieda Carmichael

Hildegard F. Carmichael, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at a local care center. She worked as an Accountant for the US Army Hospital in Germany and later retired as a line leader at a tool manufacturing company. She was also a homemaker, an Army wife and a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother and friend.Hildegard Frieda Katz was born on December 22, 1936 in Nuremberg, Germany to the late August and Karoline (Gebhard) Katz. She was educated in Germany and met her husband, James there in 1968. They were married on August 31, 1979 in Colorado Springs.She enjoyed walking, travel, sports, swimming, bicycling and skiing. They lived in Germany until 1995. She had a stubborn German nature about her but always had an open heart and welcomed others into her life. She seemed consumed completely with her children and grandchildrens' needs. She took wonderful care of her husband during his recent illness.She is survived by her husband, SSgt James F. Carmichael; daughters, Erika (Peter) Weber and Elisabeth (Tyrone) Williams; six grandchildren, Jasmin, Tamara, Tanja, Nicole, Sabrina and Marcel; great grandchildren, Devana, Leah, Mariah, Devon, Naja, Gregory, Cristian, Aman, Parker, Tylah, Isaiah, Patrik, Dominik, and Alexander.She was preceded in death by four brothers, Manfred, Juergen, Konrad and Oskar.Visitation will be held from 12:00PM-1PM, Sunday, May 3, 2015 at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado.Funeral Services, 1:00PM, Sunday, May 3, 2015 at The Springs Funeral Services.
