Obituary of Malachi "Mike" Michael Mooneyham
Malachi Michael Mooneyham, born May 14th, 1996 in Lawrence, Kansas, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2015. From an early age Malachi enjoyed playing the game of baseball which he learned from his grandfather. He was a naturally talented ball player who was once recruited by a high school coach at the age of twelve. Malachi also enjoyed music, especially hip-hop and dubstep, but was a fan of many genres. He enjoyed fishing, another love he inherited from his grandfather. One of his proudest moments while fishing came when he landed a 30 inch catfish. And like most teenagers Malachi enjoyed playing video games, especially online with his friends. He was particularly fond of the Call of Duty series of games. In his short life Malachi was able to travel to a wide variety of places in the United States. He swam in the Pacific Ocean, hiked the Grand Canyon, fished the Platte River, rode the Steel Eel and Space Mountain, saw Mt. Rushmore, toured the Capitol Building, and wept at Arlington Cemetery. Malachi wanted nothing more than to be an interpreter and had recently enrolled at Pikes Peak Community College in their German program, a language which he loved and enjoyed. Malachi was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ronald Morris. He is survived by his loving mother, Amber Leach; his brother, Logan Mooneyham, who always looked up to him; his father, Damien Mooneyham; and too many other friends and family to list here. Malachi will be loved and missed and the world is a little less joyful with him not being in it.Visitation, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2015, The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado.Funeral service, 11 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2015, The Springs Funeral Services.
