Obituary of Dolores Ilene Freymuth

Dolores Ilene (Wetter) Freymuth passed away June 24, 2015.She was born on July 30, 1932 in Norton, Kansas along with her identical twin sister Patricia, to Joseph and Sylvia Wetter. She also had an older sister, Barbara.She would often tell stories about her life on the farm, including tales of her mother's sense of humor, which Dolores obviously inherited. While in her twenties she visited an aunt who lived in Colorado Springs and fell in love with the city. Despite her family's concerns she boldly moved to Colorado Springs at the age of twenty-three. A few months later, she met her husband, G. Russell Freymuth. They were married on November 26, 1955. In 49 years of marriage, the couple raised ten children. While Russell worked at the Broadmoor Hotel, Dolores was the proprietor of the Catholic Gift and Book Shop. Dolores enjoyed crocheting, sewing, reading, card games, drawing and painting. A devoted Catholic all her life, she regularly donated to the church and to various Catholic charities. She was very generous to her family and friends and was loved by all who were lucky to have known her. She was a true lady in every sense of the word. Dolores was a longtime member of St. Paul's Parish, the Altar Society, member and President of the Catholic Daughters, and member of the Diocesan Council. Dolores was preceded in death by husband, G. Russell Freymuth, her parents, Joseph and Sylvia Wetter, her sister Barbara Tacha, her sister Patricia Gauthier. She is survived by her children, Larry (spouse, Patricia) Freymuth, Terry (Suzy) Freymuth, Chris Freymuth, Joe Freymuth, Marie Reed, Tim (Jamie) Freymuth , Frank (Marla) Freymuth, Robert Freymuth, Katherine Freymuth, and Stephan (Marji) Freymuth, along with ten grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Rosary will be recited at 7:00PM, Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00AM, Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 9 El Pomar Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
