Obituary of John "Ed" Henry Edward Grant
John Henry Edward Grant, age 82, a longtime resident of Colorado passed away on June 28, 2015 in Pueblo, Colorado after a long battle with Alzheimer's. He was a production manager for the apparel industry for many years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.Ed was born on August 14, 1932 in Phoenix, Arizona to the late Edward and Esther (Lindner) Grant. He was raised in California and was a 1950 graduate of Redondo Union High School. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. He was associated with a number of clothing companies: Rose Marie Reid, Catalina, Barely Legal and Levi Strauss. After his retirement, he became a woodworker and furniture maker. He enjoyed fly fishing, tying flies, hunting, camping, sailing and catamaran racing. He truly love race cars and had often raced on the Bonneville Salt Flats. He will be best remembered for his woodworking and his love for ice cream.He is survived by his wife, Terry of Colorado Springs; his three children, Victoria (Richard) Conine of Buda, Texas, Julia (Robert, Jr.) Manley of Lake George, Colorado and Kristina (Tim) Cazier of Columbia Falls, Montana.Also surviving is his sister, Claudia Grant; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; his former wife, Carolyn Wheeler; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Matthew; two sisters, Clara and Bea; and a brother, Robert.Memorial Service, 2:00PM, Saturday, July 11, 2015, The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
