Obituary of Merolin Norman
Reflection of LifeMerolin Norman was born December 24, 1941 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Jewel (Jerry) and Jessie Bernice Norman. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Leona Gatheright and Rose Jenkins; and brothers, James French Norman and Carl Levon Norman. Merolin was the sixth of ten children born to his parents. Merolin graduated from Dunbar High School. After graduation, he became a life guard at the neighborhood park where he met the love of his life, Juanita Johnson. In 1962, Merolin and Juanita were joined together, in Holy Matrimony, and their love life began.In 1964, the Normans left Arkansas to begin their life in California, where Merolin worked for many years at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft. While working there, he also went to school to get his certification as a journeyman, specializing in brick and block masonry. This became his second love. His masonry work can be seen all over California and Colorado. After coming to Colorado, he, not only, continued his beloved brick and block work, but also became an armed security officer for the Cheyenne Mountain Security Company. When Merolin wasn't working, most of his free time was spent hunting.He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Juanita; sons, Michael and Randy Norman; daughters Merolyn Fay Cooper and Donna Norman; grandchildren, Brandy, Randy, Jr., Allyssa, Andrew, Reanna, Durran, Donita Murray, Denice Welch, Tevon, Brittany, and Bryce Cooper; sisters, Essie Mae Waters and Lyinda Johnson of Little Rock, Arkansas, Dorothy Estell of Long Beach, California, and Juanita (Rufus) Redmon of Dallas, Texas; brother, Randy (Sharon) Norman of Little Rock, Arkansas; two great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends, who will miss him dearly.
