Obituary of William "Bill" Ward
William "Bill" Ward of Colorado Springs, formerly of Rock Island, Illinois, passed away July 12, 2015 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.He was born in Gainesville, Florida on July 27, 1943 to Lyle D. and Jeanne Foster Ward. He grew up in Rushville and Rock Island, Illinois. Bill lived with his Aunt and Uncle Don and Lucille Murray in the 40's and 50's and fell in love with Colorado. He moved to Colorado in 1961 and graduated from Palmer High School in 1962.Bill was an entrepreneur and he owned Quality Machine and Electro-Stylus Inc. He also owned Union Street General Store and Main Street General Store in Pueblo with Carol Ward. He loved hiking and was an avid reader. He had an extensive rock collection.He is survived by his son, Tristan (Anissa) Ward; his daughters, Kris (Joe) Gende and Karla (Terry) Grafton; his brothers, Gene (Astrid) Ward and Ed (Zenas Sierras) Strauch; and his sister, MaryAnn (Bob Straub) Strauch.He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.At Bill's request, interment will be in Rushville, Illinois.Funeral Home:The Springs Funeral Services3115 East Platte AvenueColorado Springs, , COUS 80909
