Our hearts go out to all of you, David's family, at the loss of your beloved. That's what the name David means, "Beloved of God," and he was loved by God. I only met David one of two times when we were at Lexington Theological Seminary, and saw him once at a Hospice meeting we both attended as I, too was a Hospice Chaplain here in Alamosa, CO. Even though I did not know him well, he was my brother in Christ and part of this Rocky Mountain Region we both shared. It was evident back then, and through his reputation that he truly was beloved of God---that he embodied the best for which our faith calls. Because he was my spiritual brother, I felt sadness when I heard of his death and my heart hurt for you his loved ones.
