Obituary of Dolores "Cookie" Elvira Johnson
Dolores Johnson, lovingly known to most as Cookie, died August 8, 2015 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Cookie lived in Colorado Springs since 1985 and was a member of the Colorado Springs Art Guild.Cookie studied oil painting in landscapes in Arizona, and had been an art instructor for several years in Colorado and the New Mexico Four Corners area. She was also owner of Cookie's Art Company and served as a Fine Art Judge.Ms Cookie worked mainly in oil, with some watercolor and drawings in pen, ink and pencil. She grew up on a horse with a famous cowboy father and she loved the Old West and horses. Cookie's brother is still a working cowboy who gave her a treasury of adventures to paint.She served as a Special Show Chairman for the Mesa Art League in Mesa, Arizona, writing about Novice Artists for The Mesa Tribune, Apache Centinnal and the Spur Shopper. Cookie was past Founder and President of the San Juan Art League in Pagosa Springs, Colorado.She is survived by her husband, Willie J.; a son, Tom Adams; a daughter, Ronda Anderson; and two sisters, Christine Sellers and Bonnie Cavender.Visitation, 4:00PM to 6:00PM, Friday, August 14, 2015 at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 E.
