Obituary of Judy Elaine Valdois

Judy Valdois was joyously received into Heaven on Friday, August 14, 2015. She was surrounded by her family, expressing her love to them until her last breath. Although she faced medical issues for many years, she continued to have a strong will to live and love. She will be remembered for her beautiful blue eyes and her tenacious, gentle, and generous spirit. She never gave up, and was often heard saying, "I will not die until I am on God's Calendar."Judy Elaine Bowen was born on October 22, 1942 in Lawrence, Kansas to Kenneth and Olive Bowen. She spent her childhood in Kansas and at age 14 moved with her family to Vallejo, CA. She graduated from Vallejo High School and attended college in Springfield, Missouri where she studied music and piano. Judy married David Valdois on July 21, 1961 in Haven, Kansas. They worked in Kansas, started a family and in 1969 moved to California. Judy and Dave worked together at their church. She was the pianist while Dave directed the music. In 1978, they moved their family to Colorado Springs, where they have enjoyed living for the last 36 years. Judy taught piano lessons, was a school volunteer and also a teacher's assistant. She was a loving foster mother to 26 infants. She became an award-winning cross-stitcher, enjoyed a variety of crafts, church activities and her wonderful children, grandchildren and Yorkie companion, Wiggles. She is survived by her husband, Dave; her sons: Quentin, Tony (Jennifer), and Todd (Jennifer) Valdois, all of Colorado Springs. She is also survived by her mother: Olive Bowen-DeCesare of WA and her sister: Jean (Jim) Halvorson of WA, and her five grandchildren: Kylie, Hayley, Katie, Christian and Nicolai.She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth and an infant son.
