Obituary of John Kenneth Mink
John Kenneth "Kenny" Mink, of Buena Vista, Colorado, went to Heaven on September 6, 2015. He was born July 3, 1924 in Canon City, Colorado to John H. and Olive Runner Mink, and worked as a soldier, cowboy, Culligan Man, and Agar's Service Station. He worked for the Colorado Department of Transportation Highway Department from 1966 until retirement in 1987 and liked to fish, hunt, and spend time at his cabin by Bull Gulch. Kenny was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a good friend. He enjoyed working outdoors and his yard was his pride and joy. He was always helping others and enjoyed people, especially children. Kenny was immensely proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.He married Doris O. Kennedy on July 5, 1945 and they spent 70 years together, virtually inseparable. Where one was, the other was usually close by. When Kenny came home from work at 4:00PM, they always had a Pepsi break.He was preceded in death by his parents; son, John W. Mink; brothers, Lon, Lewis, and Homer Mink; sisters Edna Garlets and Sarah Failing; and an infant grandson. Kenny is survived by his wife, Doris; daughter, Carolyn (Gary Puckett) Mink; grandsons, Dan (Kerry) Baroni, Mike (Alicia) Baroni, Ernest Mink, and Christopher (Karen) Buxman; granddaughter, Heather (Chris) Kulick; great-grandchildren, Samuel, Jackson, Emma, Nicole, and Lindsey Baroni, Ashley and Austin Clanton, Alyssa Kulick, and Christa and Olivia Buxman; and several nieces and nephews.Memorial Service, 2:00PM, Sunday, September 13, 2015, at The Congregational United Church of Christ, Buena Vista, Colorado.
