Obituary of James Owen Light

Jim Light, 77, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2015, at his home in Manitou Springs. He was born in Arab, Alabama and moved to Chicago while in elementary school. At the age of 21, he was drafted into the U.S. Army in which he served proudly for two years.On August 8, 1997 he and Donna Knight were married at Lake Tahoe, Nevada.Most of his working years were spent in the auto repair business as a service manager, mechanic and business owner in California and Colorado.His survivors include his wife, Donna; children, Patti Light-Kerr, James T. Light (Jessica), Cindi Silzer, and Sharon Kilgore (Fred); brother, Wayne; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and youngest brother, Jimmy Glen.In respect of Jim's wishes cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
