Obituary of Leah B. Kelly
Leah B. Kelly, age 74, a Colorado resident since 1976, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015, at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs. She was a secretary for the US Civil Service who retired from the US Air Force Academy.Leah was born on October 26, 1940, in Rupert, Idaho to the late Lloyd and Alice (Thacker) Chapman. She was a graduate of Shoshone High School in Idaho. She married, served her country as an Army wife, and raised a wonderful family.Leah enjoyed reading, spending time with friends and family, crocheting and knitting. She will be best remembered for her caring and generosity. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church.Ms. Kelly is survived by her daughter; Shannon Kelly of Colorado Springs; her son, Conan Kelly of Broomfield, Colorado; her sister, Deloris Ann Whitesell of Gooding, Idaho; and her sister-in-law, Elva Mae Chapman of Idaho. She has two grandchildren, Crystal and Devon, and three great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Robert and Ray Chapman, and two sisters, Ethel Mae Barrow and Shyla Nejezchleba.Memorial Services will be held at 11:00AM, Thursday, October 1, 2015, at First United Methodist Church, Lehmberg Chapel.
