Obituary of Mason J. Bednar
Mason Bednar of Colorado Springs passed away October 24, 2015 at Memorial Hospital after suffering head injuries from a car accident. Mason served 8 years in the army with multiple tours in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Kuwait. While in the middle east he was known as Builder Bob for his ability to make just about anything. In Iraq he was proud to drive the Buffalo, a mine sweeper sent in advance of the convoys. He was a Sargent in the Fourth Brigade Support Battalion and was last stationed at Ft. Carson. Mason completed his service this year and was studying engineering while working as a mechanic for Auto Truck. He put his passion to use for two off-road racing teams. He was a mechanic for Lucky Dog Racing and then a mechanic and co-driver for MADD Motorsports.He was born in La Grange, Texas on August 12, 1989. He graduated from Fayetteville High School and entered the service shortly after. Mason was so full of life, and loved by so many. He was an extremely bright and creative young man. He was preceded in death by his father Craig T. Bednar of La Grange, Texas. Survivors include his mother, Stephanie Shroyer of Schulenburg, Texas, two half siblings Robin Tungent of Bastrop, Texas and Jordan Bednar of Austin, Texas. He had many aunts, uncles, and cousins who all loved him very much.A celebration of his life will take place at 5:30PM on Tuesday, October 27th, at Boulder Park, 1210 East Boulder St., Colorado Springs, CO.
