Obituary of Raymond F. Edmonds

Ray was the oldest child of Lloyd & Lois (Bounds) Edmonds. His father Lloyd was a Drill Instructor at Camp Pendleton and later the family moved to the Kansas City area. He grew up in DeSoto, Kansas and later attended Wynadotte High School. He entered the Marine Corp and was assigned Memphis MCAS, and then Kaneohe Bay Hawaii, MCAS. While in Hawaii, he attended college for two years studying reciprocating engines and jet engines. Other overseas duty tours of Vietnam, and Japan with extensive short fights and travel to many parts the world. SSgt Edmonds served under both 3rd & 5th Marine divisions. Ray moved his family to Colorado Springs in the 1984 to work with concrete until forced to retire due to health. Later, he completed training as a Level III Counselor and volunteer at times at the VA Clinic and El Paso County Courthouse. He was a life member of the DAV Chapter 26 Knob Hill.He was an expert in antiques and collectables as well as restoring cars.He is survived by wife Leslie; daughter, Kelly Weathington and sons; Rev. John Edmonds and Ryan Edmonds and four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
