Obituary of Thomas William Elsey, Chaplain US Army-Retired
Thomas W. Elsey, age 73, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2015, at his home in Peyton, Colorado. He was born in Wyandotte, Michigan on October 26, 1942, to Orville William Elsey and Irene Louise (Balko) Elsey. Tom is survived by his wife Kathleen Kafader Elsey; brother Daniel Elsey (Carol); daughter Corinne Jakes (David), son Erik Elsey (Jenny), daughter Elizabeth Elsey, and daughter Kristin Putnam (Timothy); grandchildren: Peter and Rachel Jakes, Kai and Rhys Elsey, and Israel, Naomi, Jeremiah, Catherine, and Peter Putnam; nieces: Cheryl and Karen Elsey; nephew: Mark Elsey (Pam); great nephews: Jonathan and Christopher Elsey, and Josh Villacres; and great niece: Emily Villacres. He faithfully served as a Chaplain in the Army Reserve, for 35 years, and he reached the rank of Colonel. He was ordained as a Pastor and served primarily in churches in Ohio and Pennsylvania. He owned The Center For Counseling in Colorado Springs, Colorado and practiced as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. He has a Master of Divinity from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, a Master of Arts in Counseling and Therapy from Michigan State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Wheaton College. During his life, Tom demonstrated a true servant's heart and impacted countless lives. He was deeply loved, and he will be dearly missed. A Homecoming Celebration for Tom will be 2:00PM, Saturday, November 21, 2015, at Grace Community Church, 9475 Grace Church View, Falcon, Colorado 80831.
