Obituary of Joan Barbara Hubbard
Joan Hubbard, age 81, passed away on November 12, 2015 in Colorado Springs after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was a wonderful mother, homemaker, grandmother, sister and friend.Joan Barbara Freese was born on August 14, 1934 in Flint, Michigan to the late Hugh and Dorothy (Roney) Freese. She attended schools in Michigan and was a 1952 graduate of Kearsley High School in Flint. She married William Henry Hubbard, Jr. on July 27, 1957 in Angola, Indiana. Joan and Bill moved to Lake Fenton, Michigan where they raised a family. They later moved to Woodland Park, Colorado from 1985 until 2012. Joan was a collector of antiques and enjoyed entertaining in her home. She was a caring and nurturing mother with a great sense of humor. She was the kind of person that would do anything for anyone. She will be best remembered for her kindness, generosity and was the rock of the Hubbard Family.She is survived by her children: Robert (and Rita) Hubbard of Florissant, Colorado; Jill McGuffin of Colorado Springs and Kim (and Charles) Bausick of Colorado Springs. She has seven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Joan is also survived by her two sisters: Betty (and Larry) Ash of Flint, Michigan and Judy Creger of Schwartz Creek, Michigan.She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William in 2013.At her request, no services are planned.
