Obituary of Lt. Col. Robert "Jeff" Jackson, USAF

Jeff Jackson, age, 60 and resident of Monument, Colorado died at his home on November 24, 2015. He was born April 23, 1955 in Bitburg, Germany spent his career as a United States Air Force Academy Professor.Excellence, Balance and Love. In describing Jeff Jackson, these three themes always emerge:Excellence. Regardless of the feat, Jeff excelled. He graduated cum laude from Duke University. He received a Ph.D. in psychology from Loyola University. He joined the United States Air Force, became a Clinical Psychologist, and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. While in the Air Force, and after, Jeff taught at the prestigious Air Force Academy, eventually becoming a full professor. He focused his teachings on leadership. Yet, unlike many educators, Jeff was both an academic and a practitioner. He not only taught leadership, he was a leader.Balance. Jeff not only excelled in the workplace, he also excelled with family and friends. No matter how busy, he had time for those he cared about. Yet, it would seem that he cared about everyone. He was a loving husband, an exemplary father, a loyal brother, and a model son. He was a friend to all and an enemy to none. This balance derived from Jeff's compassion for all.Love. Jeff had a fiery passion for so much: from playing basketball in the gymnasium to educating in the classroom. Most of all, his love and passion surrounded his family and friends. He is the creator of bonds that will never be broken and memories that will never be lost.Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Connie Brand Jackson; his three children, Douglas Jackson, Ricky Jackson, and Kristin Jackson; his parents, Richard and Janet Jackson; four brothers, Keith (Debbie) Jackson, Tim (Jody) Jackson, Scott (Lisa) Jackson, and Joe (Chris) Jackson. He is survived by his many nieces and nephews.Memorial Service, 1:00PM, Friday, December 11, 2015 at the Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel with burial following at the Air Force Academy Cemetery.Though Jeff may be gone, Jeff's passion for education persists.
