Obituary of Max Monte Patterson

Max Monte Patterson, a resident of Fort Collins and Colorado Springs, passed into the next life on December 26th, 2015 at the age of 86. He is survived by his four children; Mike Patterson, Wendy Cohen, Stacy Evans, Scott Patterson, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.Max was born on January 6, 1929 in Fort Collins to Bruce and Ruth (Seeley) Patterson. He was the younger of two children. Max served in the Navy during the Korean War as a Seabee. He traveled throughout the Pacific and Asia while serving. Upon returning from the service, Max continued his education at CSU and then, like his father before him, continued to work in the construction trade. He proudly joined the Carpenter's Union becoming a master carpenter and in the later part of his career became a Construction Superintendent. He can count among his accomplishments the Olympic Shooting Sports Facility, Pueblo Fish Hatchery, east-bound Eisenhower Tunnel, Divide Pumping Station, and many other structures throughout the state of Colorado.Max met Norma Jean Lacy in Fort Collins and they were married in the chapel at CSU. The Patterson family moved to the Colorado Springs area during the floods of 1965, settling in Widefield where Max lived until last year. Max was a proud member of the American Legion in Widefield and made many friends there. In 2015, Max moved back to Fort Collins, due to health problems, becoming a resident at an assisted living residence called New Mercer Commons. His passions in life were women, fishing, gardening, painting, asking for a new body, and the words: "Whatever" and "Wonderful".Max was always the life of the party. His presence was known by his booming voice, no nonsense attitude, unfiltered opinions, colorful language and analogies, stubbornness, and sense of humor. Those who got to know Max will never forget him. He will be greatly missed.Visitation, 6:00PM-8:00PM, Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80909.Funeral Service, 11:00AM, Thursday, December 31, 2015, at The Springs Funeral Services.Burial at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado.Rest in peace Max, you were loved.Funeral Home:The Springs Funeral Services3115 East Platte AvenueColorado Springs, , COUS 80909 Events Visitation Wednesday, December 30, 2015 6:00PM - 8:00PM The Springs Funeral Services 3115 East Platte Avenue Colorado Springs, CO 80909 Phone: 719-207-8855 Service Thursday, December 31, 2015 11:00AM The Springs Funeral Services 3115 East Platte Avenue Colorado Springs, CO 80909 Phone: 719-207-8855 Cemetery Monday, January 4, 2016 11:30AM Fort Logan National Cemetery 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard Denver, CO 80235 Phone: 303-761-0117
