Obituary of Lou de Puthod

Lou de Puthod, 91, died peacefully in her home December 29, 2015 surrounded by family.Born October 23, 1924 in Texas, she was the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. A. Perry Osborn of Garrison, NY. She graduated from Radcliff College in 1949. After studying at the Art Students League in New York, she met the love of her life, a Frenchman Pierre de Puthod (previously deceased). They lived in France for 15 years, raising two daughters. In 1968, they moved to Colorado where Lou was known as an accomplished artist in watercolor and pastel, and a member of the Arati Artists Gallery in Old Colorado City. Lou painted scenes from her many travels around the world, exhibiting at the National Arts Club in New York City. For the last 10 years of her life, she lived in Fishkill, New York.She is survived by her daughters; Daisy de Puthod who is married to Gary Crispo and Marie Lou de Puthod-Rohyans who is married to Mark Rohyans; her brother, Clyde Osborn; her grandchildren, Florence de Puthod Ware and Charlie de Puthod; her step grandchildren, Erica Laquidara and Brooke Wilson; great- grandchildren, Michael Hood (16), Nastassia de Puthod (11), Hunter de Puthod (3), and a little girl that will be born this March; and many nieces and nephewsServices pending.Donations may be made in Lou's honor to the Garrison Art Center, Garrison, New York.A book of her paintings is available with Blurb.com.
