Obituary of Murphy Michael "Mac" McNulty, Jr.

Murphy Michael "Mac" McNulty, 83, went to be with the Lord on January 26, 2016. He was born on October 17, 1932 to Murphy and Anna McNulty in Baytown, Texas. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and Lee College in Baytown, then attended the University of Texas at Austin, graduating with a degree in Chemical Engineering and later an MBA. He married Ruth Deiterich in 1956. After raising a family and working in Houston, Mac and Ruth retired to Colorado Springs. Mac's love of music led him to form and direct the Mac McNulty Orchestra for 12 years, which played the music of the Big Band Era. A follower of Jesus Christ, Mac was a member of Vista Grande Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Ruth; daughter and son-in-law, Christa and Brian Penn of Boulder; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Diane McNulty of Houston; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Lorei McNulty also of Houston; and daughter and son-in-law, Anne-Marie and Paul Bauer, Jr. of Colorado Springs; grandchildren: Travis (Leigh Ann) Penn; Ian (Stevie) Penn; Collin (Leah) McNulty; Stuart McNulty; Aaron Bauer; Amy Penn; Kathryn McNulty; Drew Bauer; Ryan McNulty; Niel Bauer and Noah "Tiko" Bauer; and sister, Dura Estes of Hempstead, Texas. Preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Alma Haddick of Baytown, Texas Murl Hinton of Crosby, Texas and Lois Phillips, also of Baytown, Texas.
