She passed away on January 31, 2016.Her parents moved their family to Calhan, Colorado where she attended school through the 12th grade. She continued her education by taking many college classes. She married Edwin M. Kelly in Calhan, Colorado on September 2, 1950. They had two daughters, Cheryl Ann and Tami Sue.They lived in Colorado Springs where she worked at Alexander Film Company for nine years, working her way up from a clerk-typist to a legal secretary. She retired from this job to raise her daughters, which was the most important and fulfilling job during her life. They wanted to raise their daughters in a small town and moved back to Calhan. Education was a priority in her life and she served on the school board for eight years and was a 4-H leader for many years. She enjoyed working with several different professionals at the Calhan Professional Center. She continued her career as the Executive Director for the Calhan Housing Authority where she worked for nineteen years. She moved to Colorado Springs where she did volunteer work for PPACG & the Police Department. She continued to work part time for The Villa at Sunny Vista and was the property manager for several years for Valley Hi Condo's. During these years she loved to travel with members of her family, going to Europe, Hawaii and on several cruises. During her life she was an avid bowler, bridge player and loved polka dancing. The biggest joy in her life was her children, grandchildren and in later years, her great-grandchildren. As they would visit with her, it was they who brought the biggest smiles to her.
