Obituary of Lucille "Lou" Keeser
On Monday, February 8, 2016 Lucille (Lou) Keeser, Frank's loving wife of 66 years, a longtime resident and dedicated community volunteer of Fountain, Colorado gracefully lost her battle with cancer.Lou and Frank have been together since they met in 1946 in the town of Ireland Corners, New York. A few Years later they were married and began their life's journey together, serving their Country and Community.Throughout Frank's Military career they lived around the world, but truly knew they were home when Frank's last assignment brought him to Ft Carson in 1973. Within weeks of arriving, Lou had reached out to the First United Methodist Church, various community organizations and Fountain leadership to ask " How can I help?" Lou's passion for volunteering and giving to her community has unquestionably been impactful. She has tirelessly and selflessly given through volunteering her leadership, advice, guidance, mentorship, patience and resources over the past 43 years in the Fountain Community. Lou was a volunteer, member, and/or board member of many organizations; Fountain Valley C.A.R.E.S. (leading and organizing thousands of events ensuring much needed food and resources were provided to those in need); First United Methodist Church (clothes closet) Lou was instrumental in identifying sources for clothing items for our community members in need; the Rebeccas, Eastern Star, Red Cross, Girl Scouts of America and the Humane Society. She also volunteered and worked with parents suspected of child abuse, and assumed leadership positions in Military Order Of Purple Heart Chapter 423 - Ladies Auxiliary and many other non-profit and community based organizations. She and Frank were once honored by the Fountain Valley Chamber of Commerce as Volunteers of the Year for all they have done in the Fountain Valley area.Lou left behind her loving husband, Frank Keeser, of Fountain; her daughters, Lynn Roddam and Mary Keeser; her sons, James and Edward Keeser, a grandson, Tim Hoskins, and her extended family of granddaughter, grandsons, nieces, nephews and many friends and supporters. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Libby Hoskins.A celebration of Lou's life will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, February 10, 2016at the First United Methodist Church, located at 1003 N Santa Fe Avenue, Fountain, Colorado 80817.In lieu of flowers, send donations to First Methodist Church of Fountain (719-382-5113)Funeral Home:The Springs Funeral Services3115 East Platte AvenueColorado Springs, , COUS 80909
